A fun surprise about 2 weeks after my birthday in 2017 was a seizure that alerted me to a "neoplasm" in my brain. Yep, that's a tumor, called an oligodendroglioma. Thus was I shoved unceremoniously into the perma-patient lifestyle, and the "Graphic Medicine" genre of diary comics. I have been choosing to focus on the positive and absurd aspects of this new experience, to see it all as new material for art and comics. Because, what else would I do?! It's also psychologically helpful to evaluate this stuff as art material--it establishes a comfortable distance between me and the disease. Plus, I like sharing this stuff with people who may be facing similar challenges. So, I'll be updating this section as I have new work to add. Onward!
